More photos from France

Family,
I just uploaded a few more photos to our Flickr site.  They are mostly of our visit to a larger town, Orthez, where we shopped at a farmer's market and visited the cathedral there.
Today we had 'tea' with Nuala's sister, Dereine, and her granddaughter and friends and a Muslim nanny who wanted to ask questions about the Mormons.  Kaaren made a peach cobbler/crumble and Nuala and her granddaughter made what they called a "fruit lasagna" but which is very much like an English trifle.  It was nice "tea" at a table set under a tree in the back garden.  Her husband, Andre, was helping a gardener trim bushes in the garden.  We learned later that the gardener was really a wealthy landlord of many houses and lands in the area who like to help out. He's 70, a confirmed bachelor and he took us through his 500 year old house, scaring Arden with his loud and fast  French.  When Brittany asked him to speak more slowly, he only spoke faster repeating himself over and over. Nuala's family is very fascinating - very intellectual people all around, and it is clear to see thqt Mathias is not innocent of the intellectual genes flowing through his parents generations.

Kaaren and I shopped at the market in Navarrenx today.  Enough for now.  I need to go home.
